Borra — a wide brim of Spanish alabaster over a glowing alabaster globe, hung from a bead of solid brass. The shade is a shallow, hat-like dish of stone; beneath it sits a small sphere of the same alabaster, and above it a polished brass ball joins everything to a twisted cord. It is a simple, almost playful silhouette, made in serious materials.
Lit, both pieces of stone glow at once: the globe brightly, the brim more softly, so you get two tones of warm light from one fixture, with the alabaster’s natural clouds and veining visible in each. Off, the pale stone and warm brass read as a small, beautifully made object hanging in the room.
Why it is worth the ceiling
-
Real Spanish alabaster, twice. Both the brim and the globe are natural stone, not resin or glass. Every piece is cut from a different block, so the veining on yours is one of one.
-
Solid brass, hand-brushed. The brass ball and fittings are brushed to a soft natural finish that warms with the stone.
-
Glare-free, layered light. The bulb sits inside the alabaster globe, with the brim shading the eye, so the light is soft from every angle — flattering over a table or beside a bed.
-
Full-spectrum light. A full-spectrum G9 LED in warm white keeps wood, fabric and skin tones looking natural. Included and ready to install.
-
Adjustable drop. The cord length is adjustable, so it can hang low over a nightstand or higher above a table.
Where it belongs
Hang a pair as bedside pendants in place of table lamps, three in a row over a kitchen island or dining table, or one alone above a reading chair or side table in the living room. At 9.8" across, it suits intimate spots and looks best in multiples over longer surfaces.

A note on natural stone: alabaster is a natural material. Veining, color and translucency vary from piece to piece, and the brim and globe may differ slightly from each other and from the photographs. When ordering several for one room, contact us if you would like them matched as closely as possible.
Frequently asked questions
Are both the brim and the globe real alabaster?
Yes. Both are solid Spanish alabaster, natural stone carved to shape. The veining appears when light passes through it.
Can the hanging height be adjusted?
Yes. The cord is adjustable, so you can set the drop at installation. If you have a very high ceiling, contact us with the drop you need before ordering.
How high should I hang it?
As a bedside pendant, hang the bottom of the globe about 18–24 inches above the nightstand. Over a dining table or island, about 30–36 inches above the surface, spacing several about 24–30 inches apart.
What bulb does it take?
One G9 LED, and a full-spectrum warm-white bulb is included. For dimming, use a dimmable G9 LED with a compatible wall dimmer.
How do I care for the alabaster?
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Alabaster is a soft, porous stone, so avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners on the stone, and avoid metal polish on the brushed brass.
